New website European Heating Industry

Connexion has just helped the Association of the European Heating Industry (EHI) to launch their  new Drupal web site which now combines information for the general public and a private extranet for member organisations.

EHI represents and promotes the common interests of companies that produce heating systems, burners, boilers, components, radiators and renewable energy systems. It also represents 13 national industrial associations. Among the members are such big names as Vaillant, DeLonghi and Honeywell. The heating industry in Europe totals sales of over 20 billion euro and employs 120 000 people.

Connexion has turned the association’s plain HTML-only website that contained thousands of documents into a well-structured knowledge base powered by the popular open source content management system Drupal.

The new web site enables the association to easily manage the information flow between the European Union and the EHI members and to efficiently organize internal meetings.

The website contains articles, news and events for the general public. In the extranet section, registered EHI-members can also find private documents and information related to internal meetings. The powerful Apache solr search engine allows to easily pinpoint any information contained within the thousands of documents, such as meeting minutes or reports of EU institutes about the heating industry. The documents date back to 2007. The site also contains an easy-to-navigate directory with contact information of all EHI-members.
